Arsenal have joined the race to sign Real Betis winger Alejandro Pozuelo, according to reports in Spain.

The 20-year-old and has attracted interest from Manchester United earlier in the season and his impressive displays for Pepe Mel’s side have apparently caught the eye of Arsene Wenger.

Spanish newspaper Cadena Ser reports that the Gunners are now regularly scouting the progress of the Seville-born forward ahead of the summer transfer window.

Pozuelo is a Betis youth academy product and in 2010 broke through into the Betis B squad. That season the youngster made 36 appearances for the side, scoring 13 goals along the way.

The 5’7’’ Spaniard spent one season in Betis B before moving up to the senior squad last summer.

Known for his quick feet, skill and movement on and off the ball, Pozuelo has made 15 appearances (8 starts) in all competitions so far this season for the Seville club, netting just the one goal to date.
