Two representatives of the Sports Entertainment Group (SEG), a company that deals with the interests of Robin van Persie, are very enthusiastic and pleased that AC Milan are showing considerable interest in signing the Dutch striker, according to reports in Italy.
The 28-year-old in-form Gunner is out of contract in 2013 and with the Dutchman putting talks regarding a new deal at the Emirates on hold until the end of the season, the likes of AC Milan and Manchester City in particular are doing everything they can to lure the lethal forward away from the north London club this summer.
Upon hearing the news, Jeroen Hoogewerf told Tuttomercatoweb:
‘Milan wants Van Persie? Very good! We can talk about it.’
However another agent of the former Feyernoord man, Cornelis Vos, told the Italian website that he would rather not comment on pure speculation:
‘The contract with Arsenal? I prefer not to comment and add no more about that.’
Van Persie has been in scintillating form for the Gunners this season, netting 32 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for Arsene Wenger’s side.
He currently sits top of the Premier League goal-scoring charts with 25, seven in front of second placed Wayne Rooney.
