Well it was always going to crop up, especially after the Blackburn game where Aaron Ramsey was rested and Tomas Rosicky stepped into his role.
Currently, it appears that the Czech midfielder is playing better than the Welshman. Now this could be because Ramsey was tired, slightly injured or overworked. In any case, we’re going to throw it out there and ask the question – who do you think should start in that Cesc Fabregas role behind Robin van Persie.
In my opinion, Ramsey needs time to develop. He has been playing well for us, but has been slated by a few Arsenal fans as of late, which may have caused him to lose focus in recent games. Rosicky has stepped into his position and, for me, has looked more comfortable and assured in the attacking midfield role
I do rate both players highly and there is no doubt that the Welsh international will become a fantastic player for the club, but for whatever reason it is currently not happening for the 20-year-old – it could be the pressure, it could even be a hangover from what happened with Gary Speed and the Wales team. Nobody knows, but something isn’t right with him.
I’m not sure how to bring back the old Rambo, whether it will just take time or if playing him through it would be the best course of action, all I know is that we bossed the midfield against Blackburn and that we seem to play better as a team when Rosicky plays.
Ramsey looks like the long-term option for me. However, currently I just see Rosicky bringing more stability and creativity to the side and that can only be a good thing. So for the moment I’d stick Rosicky over Ramsey, as I feel the youngster needs a few games off to get back his sharpness and recharge his batteries.
So who do you think should start in attacking midfield role – Rosicky or Ramsey?
Give us your thoughts on the matter

I think its possible Ramsey’s best position is a little deeper, more like the Arteta role, whereas I think Rosicky can handle either. Rosicky is by no means the worlds best creative attacking midfielder, but we dont have anyone better at the club right now, plus Ramsey looked shattered to me. The only other possible is The Ox, but I would say right now he looks like a winger, but I could be wrong.

Rosicky is the better option at the moment….playing consistantly well & a fantastic work rate. Aaron looks slow both in decision making & pace. Having to improve his game to win back his place is no bad thing. He may become a very good player but could equally become Denilson Mk 2.

That’s actually the role Arshavin should play. That’s where he should have played or not at all.

Have to agree and Andre should be given the chance to prove himself with Rosicky on one side and Arteta on the other behind Ox-Chamberlain, RVP and Walcott.

Rosicky is better than ramsey…..faster and skillfull, I think rosicky suits that role. Ramsey is more of a defensive midfielder…….so rosicky should start in that role as we wait-on young Jack’s return.

Rosicky is better at turning ahead and pushing the offence, whereas Ramsey works harder and covers more ground. Rosicky, I don’t feel is capable of playing twice a week right now, so I’d save him for the more important games and the ones against difficult defensive opponents. Ramsey will still get an ample amount of playing time. If Wilshere or Diaby ever return it will be interesting to see how the midfield changes.

Well done..this goes out to [little mozart], i think rambo should be rested..he lacks focus,he should sit on the bench and learn what a creative no 10 does.so r7 is the best option.

Ramsey shifts a load of work but lacks the subtlety needed. He does not have the ‘ vision ‘ as yet to play the best ball. And if he does, frankly, his execution is too crude.

Ramsey is better in a more defensive role. Pretty much the same one as Arteta. The attacking midfield spot behind RVP should be held by Rosicky, Arshavin and Eisfeld. Arteta, Song, Ramsey and Coquelin are the more conservative, holding midfielders with Benayoun pretty much able to fill in wherever we need him to.

rosicky is the player we need.he has the quick passing game which arsenal has been lacking in breaking down their oponents.without the quick attacking game then our passes are being read hence no scoring.

I agree with view that we play whoever is in form. Right now the team have no leeway for any member below their best? Which does put Coquelin ahead of Ramsey too, although his availability will depend on Sagna starting, and/or Vermaelin staying at left back.
Unless there is a fitness doubt with Rosicky, he is first choice for me. I think it will be the same starting line as last time, except Sagna at left back and TV with Kos in the middle.
Subs for AOC could see Le Coq move into midfield,Sagna switching to make way for Gibbs return? Ramsey or Arshavin could be next if you want to work either back in form, but for me, you stick with the winning team until it needs changing.
Rest AOC when Gervinho gets back and keep the momentum going that we got from Blackburn. If we can score early I think Sunderland will feel the effects of last night. But they do have a serious threat with pace if the do recover. this will be tougher.

Rosisck is more direct on the attacking and defending side he help out the strikers by hold on the ball he don’t play back he always go forword that means we put pressure on the other teem and lass pressure on our diffence I know what wenger like about him it is the ability of holding postion what he did’t c is when he hold position the ball gose on our half than on the other teem half. He prefer going back than going forward. But Rosicky is the man player that help is out on the win with blackburn so I like him better I think he should start more games than him

When Gervinho comes back, The OX should be moved to that position. Arshavin is another option, but it seems Arsenal is determined to get rid of him.

Is there a third choice? Please?
The formation and personnel we have are screaming out for an attacking mid that gets in the box and feeds on wide service along with RVP and who shoots the ball and hits the target – not one that shoots the ball over the bar more than half the time, not one that has 50% of their shots blocked by a sliding in defender and not one whose technique breaks down at the most critical moment when passed the ball in the shooting zone time; after time after time.
Not one of those please and I’m also not sure if he’s currently on the roster and healthy right now.

Rosicky for me. He is quick, physically not as he was but mentally he is sharp. He knows his end game before he gets the ball. Not much of a goal threat atm but is getting closer and will score a belter soon
Not saying Ramsey is bad, but in this current formation we need speed to stretch the play using ox, theo an vp.
Ramsey may be better suited to partner wilshere.

Ramsey has been trying too hard and so lost his composure;its up to him to regain it. At the moment Rosicky is a better choice and this is a relevant topic of discussion for Arsenal supporters.
Long term though I hope to see Chamberlain there in the attacking midfield role and play Jack for Arteta.

Honestly i prefare the little mozat rite now on that position, nt that rambo is nt a bad player, he is jst tired of playing every week. I think with this resting time he is getting, he can rediscover back is old rambo, bt for now, my no.7 should stick in there. Up gunners

i think rosicky is the best mildfilder we need for the rest of this season because he’s in a very perfect form to move the attacks in the box 18. He’s very fast, he has accuracy and he is not selfish. But as for ramsy, i think he still need to learn how to play with his team mates so that they can play as a team.

Rosicky or Arshavin should play in that position, Ramsey’s decision making is too poor. If i may digress alittle, Arsene wenger could be blame for Arshavin’s poor display on the pitch, ask me why at my twitter handle@ zoldima

it’s not about who you like it’s football and the ultimate goal is for us to win games, so to that we need to play the player that at this moment is in better form playing that position. I think i will have to go with rosicky.

After watching Ox last game, I really am starting to believe he should play midfielder (the position he says he wants to play). I can just see it with him occasionally flipping in and out with both Gervinho and Walcott on top of Walcott and Gervinho switching sides. Not to mention he is defensively responsible. Now all they would need is a premier passing midfielder and we are set.
And of course Ramsey loses out!!!!
