Like pigs to the slaughter!!!

Where the hell do I begin?

Arsenal went to Milan in hope of securing a positive result last night, and all the Gunners got in return was a real pasting from the Serie A leaders.

Goals from Kevin-Prince Boateng, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho (2) have all but secured AC Milan’s qualification into the next phase of the Champions League and have left Arsenal’s hopes of lifting the Big Cup in Munich in complete tatters.

The Gunners must now somehow score FIVE goals – against, in my opinion, the best defence in Europe – and keep a clean sheet against the Milanese club in the return leg at the Emirates in three weeks time, which sounds completely ridiculous even contemplating, especially after the dire performance our team produced at the San Siro last night.

Usually seen as a safe pair of hands, it seemed to me that the occasion proved too much for young Wojciech Szczesny to handle. Wasn’t assured enough and got his positioning wrong on a number of occasions.

Thomas Vermaelen possibly had his worst game in an Arsenal shirt since joining the club, while Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs didn’t offer any support to the attack and were shocking in terms of positioning. Got run ragged!

At times it looked liked it was Laurent Koscielny v Milan! So when he was replaced by Johan Djourou at 2-0 down, it looked almost certain that we were going to concede again and we did!

Our entire midfield looked like a bunch of strangers that just met a few minutes before kick-off and appeared lethargic – this was evident by their poor movement, misplaced passes and lack of fight!

As I tweeted during the game, ‘I can’t stand watching #Walcott play football anymore’, and the experience and creativity of Tomas Rosicky was nonexistent.

Robin van Persie also had a quite night, but who can blame him? There was no service from the midfield to the Dutchman until Thierry Henry came on, but not even the great man could dig us out of the mess we got in! Au Revoir Thierry and thank you!

One of, if not, the worst performance Arsenal have produced this season!

Hopefully this doesn’t dent our confidence going into the FA Cup game against Sunderland on Saturday and the following weekend when we host the Spuds!

But after that mauling I wouldn’t bet against it!

i can’t understand why coquelin didn’t start at left back. gibbs is completely over-hyped because he is english. his defensive play is always appalling. i backed milan for 3-1. somehow, for some reason i thought we’d score. i have no idea on what evidence i based that. fully expect us to lose on saturday as well.

Cakesoapkenya says “lets stay positive”. Tell you what, lets see after this weekend. Sunderland in the FA cup might just be our last chance to stay in a competition. Will you still have faith if we get beaten?

How long do we give AW or the top brass if this season ends with nothing to show? How about one more season or, maybe two. It’s only been seven so far. Let’s round it off to ten seasons?

BS. It’s all about how much cash can Stan get from fans who are giving it to him. Hell, he doesn’t mind if you don’t!

On another note, Arsenal’s new kit for next season has leaked from Nike. The sponsor will change to “Pound Stretcher”. The kit will also be made from recycled toilet tissue. This weight saving material will give slow runners like Arteta and Song at least 2 mph extra on a good run? The shorts will also have pockets added to keep hands nice and warm when waiting around. Gloves will come with a “High-grip” material which, in theory, should provide the likes of Djourou with better friction when tackling in the box. Other than that, the only other change are the colours. There will be a change from red top, white sleeves to red and white striped top with blue sleeves with stars on them. Stan loves the design and is delighted with the low cost!!!

Sorry, i made an error. The manufacturer has also changed from Nike to “Shite”. This should save around £15 per top on the clubs expense although fans will obviously pay more than they did for last seasons top. Obviously..
