Holland legend Patrick Kluivert expects Robin van Persie to leave Arsenal this summer because the 28-year-old Dutch striker wants to move abroad and win trophies.

Since joining the north London club back in 2004, Van Perise has only managed to lift two pieces of silverware – one Community Shield in 2004 and the 2005 FA Cup – and despite recently claiming he is ‘a true Gunner’, the Dutchman is yet to sign a new long-term deal at Arsenal.

As a result of this, a host of top European clubs, including AC Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Inter Milan are all keeping tabs on Van Persie, who only has 15 months left to run on his existing deal at The Emirates.

However, Kluivert believes Van Persie would ideally prefer a move abroad rather than stay at Arsenal.

The 35-year-old former AC Milan and Barcelona striker recently told talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast:

‘It’s always difficult when you have won lots of things with a club because you want to go on and do it with another club.

‘Don’t get me wrong, Arsenal is a great club but maybe he wants to move abroad to win the same things he’s done with Arsenal.’

Fat Pat is hardly mates with RvP; the only thing he could teach RvP is eating pies, and perhaps drink driving and killing some poor innocent. Alan Brazil is a spud supporting **** and what he has to say about the modern game has the value of used piece of toilet paper.
