Unlike the summer one this January transfer window wasn’t a very productive one for the Gunners.

Although a lot of Arsenal fans weren’t expecting the club to be busy this winter, a few (like me) were probably still hoping for a big-name signing to come in – especially after being linked with a host of top players.

Of course this did not come to fruition and like always the January window for Arsenal is becoming as predictable as ’s tactics.

Between the 1st of January until the end of the window (the 31st), Arsenal only managed to tie up seven deals – acquiring two new recruits (one on a short-term loan), while five were sent out on a temporary basis until the end of the season.

Here is a summary of Arsenal’s transfer activity during the January transfer window:

INS:

from Borussia Dortmund (£400,000)

LOANS IN:

from New York Red Bulls (loan until the end of February)

OUTS:

None

LOAN OUTS:

to Wolves (end of season loan)

to Hull (end of season loan)

to Crawley (end of season loan)

to Swindon (end of season loan)

to Bolton (end of season loan)

So in total we spent a whopping £400,000 during the January transfer window.

Let’s hope more is spent in the upcoming summer.
