Arsenal misfit Nicklas Bendtner would be willing to turn his back on Arsenal and seal a lucrative summer switch to Russia, according to the Daily Mail.

The self proclaimed ‘best striker in the world’ is currently on loan at Sunderland, but has failed to make an impression at the Wearside club, netting just 3 goals in 18 appearances so far this season.

The 24-year-old’s future remains uncertain at Arsenal, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

However, the Denmark international has recently admitted that he would consider joining a Russian club – if his contract at Arsenal isn’t renewed:

‘There are a lot of very strong players going to Russia, players who previously wouldn’t have done so.’

He added:

‘They play great football there.’

Out-of-form Gunner Andrey Arshavin signed for Zenit on loan last week, while former Blackburn captain Christopher Samba joined mega-rich Anzhi Makachkala.

But for now Bendtner remains focused on the present and will look at his options available to him when the time comes:

‘I am fine for the moment and I will look at the options available to me when the time comes.’

This particular Gooner hopes that the Dane is not at Arsenal next season! Hopefully a club in Russia are stupid enough to offer him an escape route out of The Emirates!
