Montpellier star talks up Arsenal switch

|

Reported Arsenal target Olivier Giroud has recently admitted that he would love the chance to play for the Gunners someday, but will not consider his future at Montpellier at least until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to The Emirates after an impressive showing in Ligue 1 with Montpellier this season.

The former Tours striker has netted 20 goals in 27 league matches for the French outfit and according to talkSPORT.com, Arsenal sent scouts over to watch Giroud play in Montpellier’s recent 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

With Marouane Chamakh out of form and failing to impress and Robin van Persie yet to commit his long-term future at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger will undoubtedly look to shore up his strike-force one way or another, and may see Giroud as a perfect acquisition.

The France international says it would be a ‘dream’ to one day play in the Premier League and insists he would have no trouble settling into the ‘French feel’ at Arsenal:

‘I love the French feel at Arsenal and the atmosphere that is created by the fans. They always support their players.

‘For me there is no doubt that the Premier League is the best in the world. I love to watch the matches on television. For me it is dream to play there one day.’

He concluded by saying:

‘But out of respect to my club I am not considering my future at the moment and we will decide soon what is best for both parties.’

Snap him up Wenger!
