With interest being shown from Arsenal over youth team prodigy Antonio Rozzi, as talkSPORT claim, Lazio have convinced the youngster to sign a professional deal to get rid of the Premier League club’s attempts to sign him.
The Gunners signed Thomas Eisfeld during the January transfer window from Borussia Dortmund, and sources from Italy suggest Arsenal were also lining up a move for the young striker. However, the Rome-born 17-year-old opted to stay with his boyhood club by signing his first professional long-term contract.
Rozzi made his first senior appearance for Lazio this season against Milan, after scoring 9 for the youth side. As a result, he has popped up on Arsenal, Roma and Juventus’ radars.
La Gazzette Dello Sport claim Rozzi has signed a three-year deal to keep him at the club he joined at the tender age of 5, thus putting an end to the Gunners pursuit of the youngster.
