Out-of-form Arsenal striker Marouan Chamakh has been offered a £6 million escape route by Fiorentina, according to the Daily Mail and Mirror.

The Serie A side reportedly wanted to loan out the Moroccan striker in January, but the Gunners turned down the move as they were short of cover upfront at the time.

However, after enduring a bright start to his Arsenal career – where he netted 10 goals (in all competitions) in the absence of Robin van Persie – Chamakh has since fallen out-of favour and has only managed to start 4 out of his 14 outings for the Gunners this season, netting just one goal in the process.

As a result of his decline, the 28-year-old is highly expected to depart The Emirates in the summer and Fiorentina look keen on the former Bordeaux forward.

The proposed deal would represent a great piece of business as Arsene Wenger snapped up the Moroccan international on a free transfer back in 2010.

I feel so sorry for Chamakh. After such a bright start everything went pearshaped. No-one could say he didn’t try. I wish him well wherever he plys his trade. 😆

He will go back to Bordeuax and us fans should wish him all the best if he does beucase he is leaving to play regular football and not get paid to sit on the bench. He already stated that some time ago. To play Chamakh you either need top quality deliveries to reach him in the box which we don’t have at the moment with no Nasri, Fabregas and Wilshire, or, play him alongside another central striker which we also don’t do in this 4-3-3 formation. Park can play in Attacking midfield just like Park ji sung, we will have a player with energy running around in the midfield he did it quite well in the 8 minutes against Manchester united at the Emirates plus he has won many aerial balls in the other games, his finishing is also good, but like Chamakh the confidence is low.
