Arsenal youngster Daniel Boateng will remain on loan at Swindon Town until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old defender, who has been with Arsenal since 2003 and signed his first professional contract with the club almost two years ago, joined Swindon Town on loan until the end of the season on Saturday, as the youngster looks to gain first-team experience and develop his talent with the League Two club.

Speaking about his move, Boateng said:

‘I have been at Arsenal since I was 11-years old and have come up through the youth system, but this will be a totally new experience for me.

‘I have been following Swindon quite a lot over the past few weeks. When I got here I spoke to the manager for about 20 minutes and he is so enthusiastic. It’s going to be great working with him.’

Boateng, who is primarily a centre-back by trade but can play anywhere across the back four, made the breakthrough to the Arsenal reserves last season and quickly became a regular for Neil Banfield’s side. The youngster also made his debut for the senior side in their 2-1 League Cup victory over Bolton last October.

The 6’2’’ defender managed to appear 16 times for the reserve side at both centre-back and right-back before moving to Paolo Di Canio’s Swindon Town.
