Many Arsenal fans are still trying to contain their excitement after ‘The King’ returned on Monday night which in itself would have been enough to please any Gooner.

But what made the occasion more special was that Thierry Henry came off the bench to score the only goal in the game against Leeds and kick-started Arsenal’s 2012 FA Cup Campaign off with a bang.

Well Now another Arsenal legend is back training with club, this time it’s Robert Pires, who is also maintaining his fitness while he is a free agent.

Pires announced the news on his twitter yesterday saying:

‘On my way to Colney for training!!’

When Robn van Persie heard the news, the Dutch striker tweeted:

‘Welcome back maestro!!’

This had undoubtedly sparked huge interest amongst the Arsenal fans and players, who immediately wanted to know if he was going to re-sign for the club, none more so than Jack Wilshere.

The 20-year-old tweeted:

‘Super, super Robert Pires is training today……..return of another king?!? How amazing would that be!’

Well sadly Jack’s question was answered earlier today, as the Frenchman dismissed claims that he was to follow in the footsteps of Henry and make a shock return to Arsenal

The 38-year-old recently told L’Equipe:

‘It is absolutely not my intention nor the one of Arsene, who is already ‘full’ in the midfield.’

Not good news to hear, but despite dismissing a shock return, Pires’ presence alone will lift everyone at the club and who knows, he may change his mind…
