Arsenal loanee Vito Mannone revealed that he is ready to join Championship side Hull City permanently.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper returned to the KC Stadium on a temporary basis until the end of the season, but after only featuring once for the Gunners – which came against Olympiakos in the Champions League in December – the Italian Under-21 international has since indicated that he would consider a permanent move to Hull City if things don’t change at parent club Arsenal.
Mannone told the Hull Daily Mail:
‘Everything is open and everything can change. If I’m not happy in one place and I want to move on, then I hope they will listen to me.
‘I’m open to staying here longer and I have spoken with (Hull boss) Nick (Barmby) about this already. But we all agreed that we will watch the situation and see where we are in a few months.
‘For now, I am just glad to be back and in the team. My first aim is to make points for the team and help the club do well.’
To be honest, I firmly believe that Mannone has no future at Arsenal (feel free to disagree with me).
Wojciech Szczesny will most likely be our no.1 for the next 10-15 years or so, providing he doesn’t leave or get sold, so I reckon Mannone would be wise to seek out a new club and start afresh elsewhere.
