£12M bid likely to see this man leave Lille for Arsenal

Lille seem determined to hang on to their star striker Moussa Sow despite interest from North London, as well as Turkey.

It is though that Fenerbache have tabled a bid of around €12million (£10million), while Arsenal and Tottenham are both looking to bolster their attacking options, but Lille director general Frederic Paquet has insisted the 25 year-old will be going nowhere.

Paquet said:

‘We received an offer from Fenerbache but we haven’t responded.

‘I will be very clear. No squad player will leave in January. Moussa is not for sale.’

Sow would prefer a move to the Premier League and Arsenal are looking at the Senegalese striker despite re-signing Thierry Henry for two months.

It is a move that makes sense, with Arsene Wenger looking to use his knowledge of French football to ease the reliance on Robin Van Persie’s goals. Winger Gervinho made the switch to the Emirates Stadium from Lille in the summer and he would probably be urging his former team-mate to do the same.

If Sow is to move, I would bet on Arsenal as his most likely destination. Arsene Wenger has never been afraid to shell out big money in January and a bid of around €15million would give Arsenal the edge over other teams.

The fact that Sow will be at the African Cup of Nations for the next two months is likely to put Newcastle in particular off, and the form of Emmanuel Adebayor means that Tottenham will be prepared to wait.

Arsenal will have to be quick though as L’Equipe reports that a fee has been agreed with Fenerbache and a good performance at African Cup of Nations could see Sow’s value rise.

How come Spurs just seem to be linked with which ever player arsenal is linked to… Have they no imagination? It seems as though harry is just copying whatever we do, in an attempt to be more like us… Awwwww, how cute! 😛

We steel Park Chu Young under their nose but could not use him, and now we want to have their striker..why not we let park went to Lille and offered sow at that time.

Basically we are not going in for hazard, it is now elementary.

We should have gone all out for him in the summer instead og buying gervinho and then stealing park after he had completed a medical with Lille.

For what reason did we get park, no one really knows, the guy has not played going into the second part of the season and next year will be his last in football, so winners all around!

If we get sow thats two of their players plus park who was going to be theres … you cannot take four players from one club in only two seasons.

Whats more, hazard will now cost far to much for arsenal and the biggest shame is that we could have had him over the years when he was still good enough to be winning french player of the year … now he will go to madrid or heavens forbid, city and we will rue it as we continue to buy the middle weight drizzle, not good enough for our club
