Just come back home Tony!

So the legendary Tony Adams decided to quit his role as manager of Azerbaijan side FC Gabala about two weeks ago, leaving many to believe that the 45-year-old Englishman would make a dramatic return to the place where he’s simply know as ‘Mr. Arsenal’ as a defensive coach under Arsene Wenger.

Now as great as that sounds and I want to ensue, truth be told, I think Adams wants to enhance his coaching/managerial skills a lot further before making a return to Arsenal, which unfortunately for us sucks! This is suggested by reports claiming the former Arsenal captain recently applied for the vacant job at Swedish club Elfsborg. However, he was overlooked for the role as Elfsborg wanted a Swedish boss in charge of the club.

Now if these reports are accurate then, in my opinion, Adams, who has managed Portsmouth and Wycombe Wanderers in the past, does indeed want to continue his coaching development before even considering a move back to Arsenal.

But despite doing well for FC Gabala before quitting, I think it will be very, very difficult for the former England international to obtain another managerial job, purely because of his inexperience on the hot-seat.

So basically what I’m trying to say is that Adams should just return to Arsenal as soon as possible, learn under Wengerm as well as please us fans along the way – it’s a win-win situation for all!
