Mario Gotze recently told his Dortmund team-mates he was massively impressed with Arsenal when they met in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and the 19 year old German star would reportedly be happy to join them when his time with the Bundesliga side is up.
Arsene Wenger has been tracking Gotze for quite some time and is said to be weighing up a large bid for the youngsters services in January.
Gotze was thought to be extremely taken by the Emirates Stadium and the manner in which Arsenal play their football.
A source close to the player said:
‘He likes the way Arsenal play the game and for him there are only two clubs where he’d like to play once he moves from Dortmund – Arsenal or Barcelona.’
Well in my opinion, any player who is keen to play for us should be snapped up. I think Gotze will certainly develop better under the guidance of Wenger and Arsenal football club. He likes the way we play, the way the team is set up and if I’m not mistaken probably everything about the club.
He’s a real talent and I for one Wenger doesn’t let the chance to sign him pass him by. We have been linked with so many players already this January, and I’ve said I would like for most of those rumoured deals to go through, but to be honest non more than this one. We could certainly use him and a few more of the other players linked to add depth to our squad and while we are ahead in the youth development sector, older squads like those of Manchester united and Chelsea will take a while to create a solid mix of youth and experience which by that time Arsenal’s would be what it once was – the power house of English football.

Much as I would like to see the lad come to the Emirates, I feel that the Dortmund asking price is too high. Unless one or other of our overseas investors steps in with mega dollars or roubles. That way we join the “sugar daddy” Clubs which may not be to the liking of our Manager.

i would go for him cos if it is true that he only wants to go to arsenal or barcelona i think we could get him cheaper than some of the outrageous figures we have been hearing. also barcelona are not goin to pay 30 or 40m for him cos they aint got that type of money and if they are to spend money they will have to go for a new defender.
we need a massive signing to lift the club and bring some much needed class to the club at the moment and he might just be the guy.

guys Iwish it could happen on 1jan at the moment we could not create killer passes in the mid and when block from wings we are strungling. Hope the mzee is seeing

theres no way he will come in jan.
but if this is true i realy doubt barca would even make an offer for him they alredy have alot of creative midfilders.
and with min of 30 million asking price barca will not buy him.
so it only lets us witha chance and he is a perfect replacemnt for fabrigas who we still aint replaced.
we have money left and it would be a massssssive lift for the club if we spend atleast 30 million on a player.
