Javi Garcia’s agent has rubbished reports claiming the Benfica star is set for a move to Arsenal.

The 24-year-old Spaniard is rated as one of the best midfielders currently operating in Portugal and has been putting in impressive displays, which have been earning him rave reviews around Europe, since his joining from Real Madrid in 2009.

It is understood Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his squad in January following the summer departures of both Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri and reports in Spain and Portugal are now suggesting a move for Garcia to The Emirates is imminent.

However, the midfielder’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, recently admitted that he has ha no contact from The Gunners and expects his client to remain at Benfica for the foreseeable future.

Quilon said:

‘The only interest from Arsenal in the player is what I have seen in the Portuguese press.

‘I can guarantee I have not had any contact with any club about a possible departure from Benfica.

‘Javi is happy at the club and he is very happy to stay in Lisbon. He is just thinking about winning the league and playing a big role in the Champions League.’

  • I do agree with all of the concepts you’ve offered for your post. They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for newbies. Could you please extend them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
