Sevilla are chasing Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh, according to reports in Spain.

EstadioDeportivo.com claims Sevilla chief Marcelino Garcia Toral is looking to add another striker to his squad and is planning to acquire the 27-year-old Moroccan international in January in order to bolster his attacking options.

Despite Arsene Wenger recently claiming that Chamakh will not be leaving Arsenal during the winter, the striker’s dip in form and rare appearances for the club since Robin van Persie’s return last year suggests otherwise, leaving many believing that the 6’2’’ forward will be sold when the January transfer window opens.

PSG, Bordeaux, Lille and Roma have all previously expressed an interest in Chamakh’s services, so Sevilla will have to fight tooth and nail to acquire him.
