Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has recently stated that he is eager to manage another Premier League club once he decides to return to the game, and pinpointed Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool as possible destinations.

The 52-year-old Italian was sacked by Chelsea in May 2011 and subsequently decided to take a year out from football.

Ancelotti has since been linked with several clubs around Europe including Roma and PSG, but the former A.C. Milan manager has set his sight on a return to the English top flight.

He was quoted in La Repubblica saying:

‘The Premier League is an ideal place to work for a coach, and I’d really like to work there again.’

But with Wenger’s position at Arsenal looking uncertain after a disastrous start to the new season, the ex-Chelsea manager believes a shot at the north London club is a realistic possibility in the near future:

‘It’s evident that Wenger’s bench is wobbling and that in several months’ time, an English coach will be appointed to replace Capello in the national team, which will free up a place in a club.’

However, he will only make a return to the Premier League if, and only if, a big club – believed to be in the top six – wanted him. But it is understood that the Italian strategist is happy to wait for the opportunity to arise:

‘No, only the high end clubs in which I include Tottenham and Liverpool. But there’s no hurry, I swear.’

He added:

‘Clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham are top clubs which I would take into consideration, but I’m in no rush to make a comeback.’

i wouldn’t mind having Ancelotti as the manager…don’t get me wrong i trust Wenger %100 but maybe a change wouldn’t be a bad thing…sometimes a change is needed.

I wouldn’t mind at all. Wenger is reaching a point of diminishing return and is not ready to listen to other people’s opinion. if he continues to manage Arsenal like this, the club will go down. Once a person perceives he has job security, he does things his way alone. Wenger is doing just that.

      Umoh,
Please axplain and justify what you mean by “Once a person perceives he has job security, he does things his way alone”

You are making a claim for a fact but I want to see your proof / evidence.

you want proof? where have you been? have you been waching the back of your tv? arsenal is nothing but a mid table team now. six years no truphy .thats your proof

You say…’But with Wenger’s position at Arsenal looking uncertain’
According to who, you and the rest of the media pundits? Its certainly not the view of the majority shareholder of the club who’s recent support for Wenger display the opposite standpoint to yours. I know who I would rather believe.

    • Tony Merakli says:

That’s just my opinion, should of probably stated that.

I honestly believe this is Wenger’s last year.

  • SiMax says:

he wants a top 6 club… I guess that rules Arsenal out!
