An emergency short-term deal for Wenger to consider?

Remember the internet joke doing the rounds in the summer about a certain Titus Bramble coming to the Arsenal? If you missed it some mischievous cove used Twitter to spread the rumour that the bungling Bramble was on his way to the Emirates and that Arsene Wenger was convinced it was he, not Per Mertersacker, Gary Cahill, Chris Samba or Phil Jagielka, who was the answer to our defensive woes.

My how we laughed.

Fast forward a few weeks and we’re not laughing anymore are we? Why? Because TV5 is bleedin’ crocked again and we are back to square one. Yes, the big German from Werder Bremen has provided rearguard reinforcements. But can you say, with hand on heart, that you are encouraged by the fact that we must rely on either Johan Djourou or Laurent Koscielny as his partner? To be fair, the latter is the better bet but has he fully recovered from his back injury in time for Saturday? What’s that? Seb Squillaci? Nurse, more pain-killers, please.

Which takes me back wild and inaccurate rumours (and Lord knows I know what I am talking about here) – and may I refer the honourable gentlemen to the answer I gave some moments ago (Bramble)…for we have a ready-made former international central defender in our midst. A stalwart stopper who is training with the Gunners, isn’t attached to a club and can be signed on a short-term deal until the entire medical team at the club are sectioned and TV5 is nurtured back to fitness.

Yes, step forward Sulzeer Jeremiah Campbell. Dare AW do it? Hire a player that was shown the door in the summer after a stuttering spell at Newcastle United? He knows the boss. He knows the players. He knows the set-up. Is he up to it?

A player that could enter newcastle defence line! well last season wenger brg a retired gkeeper all because he don’t do right thing at d right time and want us to trust his jurgment.

    • demongooner says:

@bright, what are you on about ? did you see last? arsenal had four count them, four goalkeepers out injured last season at one time, how many clubs could turn around and foreseen that happening? the answer none ,so wenger had to go get a retired keeper,do you believe fergie would of won the premiership last season or got to the champions league final without his top two keepers?no!
please in future engage brain before talking sh**

  • IvoryGoonz says:

@demongooner: maybe if AW stopped signing players with injury history we wouldn’t be on the brink of disaster every February?
Maybe if he trained players not has hardly fitness-wise as they do and more tactic-wise, they’d be less injured?
Maybe if we didn’t use horse-race physio technics on human beings but actually hire Athletism physios instead who have more relevance than horse-placenta, we wouldn’t be there?
Maybe if we stopped over-playing youngsters we might actually finish a season without a third of the squad Injured we wouldn’t be there?

Yeah, you’re all right. Wenger knows best.

    • demongooner says:

he knows more then you moron,i would argue with you but know you would’t be able to understand, common sense tw@ face

I wrote this some weeks ago that Sol should be recalled to the team. He is fit and a solid defender, an iron slab in an iron wall.
So what if he is older now. He should be judged on what he can so easily provide, which is much more than others currently in the team, who are younger but provide less.
I say YES.Do it NOW. Ask Sol to join without delay.

  • Duke says:

Get real Matt, u need Sol 4 what?

  • goonerlad says:

It was rvp who went for the placenta treatment, nothing to do with aw or arsenal, I don’t think they were too happy with it the time either.

Sol could be a pretty good stop gap if fit, would hope we don’t have to rely on him too much tho! He would be a good presence in the dressing room, and as long as he doesn’t limit the chances of djourou and miquel in cc, why not?

  • Matt Gunn says:

    Reply to duke –

Sol was a great player and can still do the job provided he does not take the ball too far forward and gets caught out of position. He is experienced enough to know that.

    • tguner says:

This is suprising that britikos hardly think before talking, please stop the f**k you are talking ’bout AW and that sol should be back. He’s older than he looks sports-wise.Apart from the fact that he’s neither near as good this days as the afformentioned. Then how on earth will 2 snails partner each other. someoneisn”t fit for newcastle but because he’s english he’s fit for my gooner?well we need to recall lauren, pires, fredrick et al.they sure will do a better job for us.please don’t ever let this come upm again.if it were a french you guys will say he isn’t good enough.the worst players killing the gooners are your overhyped britikos.nasri, fabregas and more came as young… left as stars… where are the british, only wilshere in about a decade….please.
