Will Arsenal fans be pleased to see this experienced left-back come in?

If rumours are to be believed, and I for once hope they are this time around, then Arsenal are poised to sign Andre Santos from Fenerbache in a deal worth an estimated £6 million before the transfer deadline.

I am glad that we are finally getting the left-back position resolved, and I think the fans will be happy that we are getting an experienced player into the position.

Santos has already 22 caps for Brazil and would be an ideal player for Arsenal following Gael Clichy’s departure to City and Armand Traore’s exit to QPR.

It is thought that Santos is currently in north London finalsing details ahead of his move to Arsenal.

After the game against Manchester United, I think the fans will be pleased with any signing at the moment, and Santos’ imminent arrival should appease the fans a little. Let’s just hope that the deal goes through quickly.

Santos would also bring in another possible goal angle to the side, as the Brazilian left-back isn’t shy of bombing forward and finding the net, having netted 10 goals in 52 appearances for Fenerbache.

Here is a look at Santos in action:

I actually can’t wait to see this guy in an Arsenal shirt !!! 😀

  • Solomon says:

Definitely YES. He’s a great player. Better than Clichy and probably the same rank as Ashley Cole when defending and better than Cole in going forward. But why this late?

While it’s true that anyone can be made to look great in a YouTube compilation clip, it has to be said that Dos Santos looks to be the type of player Arsenal desperately need, in that he seems capable of grabbing the game by the scruff of it’s neck and getting stuck in, it’s that sort of energy and drive that we lack when things aren’t going according to plan at Arsenal, perhaps he’ll bring back some of what we lost when the invisible wall Gilberto left!

If it’s true we are over the moon of course.

This story has made my day. The fans can now forgive Wenger for his slowness to act. Let’s wait and see.

Its better late than never. Also these players will need no convincing that they will be first team players after Sunday’s blockbuster. I’ve heard some fans complain about Per being slow and i say to myself: “what will it take to please some fans?”. I prefer Per to the largely overpriced Cahill, who is only scouted by the English press. Bolton can keep him. Someday, a big club will come and get him for 18 mil or more. I’m glad this is happening, at least we will be able to rotate the squad and rest some players during the season, cos Verm is beginning to look quite injury prone or maybe its the need to play him every match. Lets face it these guys are humans and whether we pay them or not, sometimes the body just needs a break or it will force it. Like its said: “Every cloud has a silver lining”. Lets hope the thunderstorm on Sunday will be the last we will ever face this season, for starters. Up the Gunners.

when he plays for Brazil the left side looks sure and not like our previous leftback clichy who always happens to make mistakes and intorduce uncertainty in the defense. Plus he can score goals!!!

  • Lee says:

This guy is sick and will look so much better in an arsenal shirt than gibbs.

    greatttttttttt player

i alwasy thought wenger was going to bring in a left back

but like i have said lets judge wenger at the end of the window.

and with per coming in at CB things look good.

just a creative midfiled that is missing
and with hazard not wanteing to move

i dont think we will bring anyone in there
there is not alot of CM on the market.
