Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Andre Santos from Fenerbahce in a deal worth around £6 million, and are on the verge of signing Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen for a reported £10 million.

The Gunners are reportedly still looking to recruit a quality midfielder, having lost Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, and have been heavily linked with the likes of Yann M’Vila, Marvin Martin, Eden Hazard, Yossi Benayoun and Everton’s Mikel Arteta, with reports in the last few minutes suggesting that Arsenal are pondering a £10 million bid for the Spanish midfielder.

Meanwhile, Arsenal youngster Henri Lansbury has joined West Ham on a season long loan.

The 20-year-old midfielder joined the East London club following the departure of Scott Parker to Spurs.

Joel Campbell, who signed for the Gunners a few weeks back from Deportivo Saprissa, has also agreed to join FC Lorient on a season long loan, whilst young French striker Gilles Sunu has signed a four year deal with the French outfit.

No movement from Nicklas Bendtner as of yet, hopefully something occurs before the 11pm deadline.

Less than 5 hours to go!!!
