Neil Warnock has hinted that Moroccan star Adel Taarabt could move to Arsenal, where ‘he has a lot of friends’.

Ligue 1 outfit PSG have already tabled a reported £13 million offer for the 22-year-old midfielder, with Spanish club Atletico Madrid also thought to be in contention for his signature this summer.

However, Warnock, who finally seems resigned to losing his best player, has not ruled out the possibility of the young Moroccan making a move to north London.

The Rangers boss was quoted in the Metro today saying:

‘PSG have made an enquiry and they obviously offer him the chance to be nearer to home, although there is a Spanish club being mentioned as well.’

‘As far as his talk of wanting to go to Chelsea or Arsenal, I know he has a lot of friends at Arsenal.’

Taarabt, who netted 19 goals in 44 appearances for the Super-Hoops last season in the Championship, has in the past stated that, if Arsenal do come knocking, then he would seriously consider it:

‘I like the way Arsenal play. If Arsenal come, of course, I’ll be very happy.’

Taarabt is also thought to be a very close friend of Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, who could possibly persuade his Moroccan compatriot in joining him at the Emirates this summer.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Taarabt in an Arsenal shirt this season, as I believe he has all the attributes to flourish at a club like Arsenal.

He may not have a lot of Premier League experience under his belt, but one thing is for sure, Taarabt certainly possesses the qualities required to make it in the English game. And under the guidance and tuition of Arsene Wenger, Taarabt could potentially be moulded into a world-class talent.

Only time will tell if the Moroccan ace will be donning the famous red and white of Arsenal this upcoming season. Here’s hoping!

REALLY! I MEAN REALLY!! DO YOU THINK THE QPR BOSS WOULD LET BE KNOWN ARSENAL WERE AFTER HIM? OR IS HE JUST GETTING THE CLUBS THAT DO WANT HIM TO COUGH UP MORE MONEY

    • JaGunner says:

I doubt thats the case i’m sure Warnock knows that Arsenal would only pay the lowest possible cost…so saying using arsenal to bump up the price is a bit wide of the bat i think

when i watch this guy he is such a moaner always complaining. piss me off sometimes he fustrates me but when he plays good he is unstoppable well in the lower league. i remember B52 was a hit in the championship.. scored like 13 goals in like something appearances. even helped them get into the league. he will be a nice bench warmer behind cesc or nasri if they stay. but for 10 mill.. WTF. i say around 8. u telling me being player of the year in the championship rewards you for costing 10mill or even more..the f*ck out of here.. what about sinclair he most be worth like 10 mill also.. but he only cost them 1.5 mill.. HAAA football is funny

Not what we need right now. A talent in the championship means nothing. We need experience especially for the £13m that’s being quoted.

  • Alan D says:

hope to get him plus hes an ex spurs player bonus

words can’t describe how much i don’t want this player! He gets promoted with the club that actually gave him a second chance and the second he gets there he talks about leaving. Which proves he has no respect. He’s openly slated all the teams he has played for, and the second someone offers him more money, we will be the next one slated!
