Was JET right to leave Arsenal?

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas decided to quit Arsenal yesterday and sealed a move to Championship outfit Ipswich in a deal reportedly worth around £1 million.

It is a shame to see JET leave The Gunners, as I feel he should have been given more opportunities to play. However, for his career, I think it is the right move for him.

The 20-year-old said:

‘Obviously it came to the stage in my career at Arsenal where I needed to be playing games, I had a decision to make and Ipswich seemed the right place for me.’

‘I know Paul Jewell is looking to bring in more players and it’s the club’s ambition to get in the Premier League. That’s my goal as well, to play in the Premier League with Ipswich.’

JET spent the last few seasons of his Arsenal career out on loan at a number of clubs, including Blackpool, Doncaster and Cardiff. However, the youngster never managed to stamp his mark in the Arsenal first-team. His first-team debut came against Stoke last season in the FA Cup, where we lost 3-1.

Was he right to leave Arsenal? I think so.

I don’t think that he was likely to get games at the Emirates and, as I stated earlier, for him, it was the right thing to do.

Although I would have liked him to stay, I completely understand his reasons for leaving and feel he has been open and very honest with the club, which is great to hear.

I wish Jay Emmanuel-Thomas the best of luck at Ipswich, and I for one hope that he succeeds in his goal to get The Tractor Boys into the Premier League one day.

Jet was a waste of talent, just like so many other young players, they got to much to soon and spiral out of control, I had always hoped he would make it at Arsenal and become the next big thing, but after watching him play for Cardiff last season I knew it was a fools hope, he just did not have the application to make it in the top flight.
Good luck JET your gonna need it!
