Arsenal are keeping tabs on Anderlecht’s Lucas Biglia, and could make a surprise move for the Argentinean international by the end of the month, according to Metro.
The Gunners scouts have been closely monitoring the situation of the 25-year-old defensive midfielder, who has recently encouraged big clubs to make offers for his services this summer.
Biglia recently told Belgium publication Het Nieuwsblad:
‘I think I have ended my cycle at Anderlecht and I want to do something new.’
‘The board know what I want to do. I know that playing for the Argentina national side means I get plenty of exposure and opens lots of doors.’
‘Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.’
It is understood that Arsene Wenger wants to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new season and the Argentinean, who possesses a good turn of pace, strength, excellent ball control and technique, is believed to be on the Frenchman’s summer shopping list.
The 5’10’’ midfielder is thought to be valued at around £7.5 million, but reports suggest that Wenger will make an opening offer of £6 million in the upcoming weeks.
Biglia, who has made over 150 appearances for Anderlecht, has also been targeted by Liverpool and Tottenham.

yes, mostly we need DM, and CB, but considering walcott could out, and RVP is likely injury prone. we need another striker? or afobe ready step up ?
Arsenal need more defenders. The Boca juniors game, although not of epl std,is an indicator of how the defence performs. I have no faith in the cds.
Until Wenger gets the proven epl guys, the defence will struggle to cope with MU,Chelsea,Mc and other mid table teams.
