Arsenal and Tottenham look set to rival each other in the race for young Russian youngster Alan Dzagoev’s signature. It is believed that a bid of £12m will be required to land the CSKA Moscow midfielder.
Dzagoev is regarded as Russia’s brightest young talent, having become the youngest outfield player to represent his country. His performances this season have led CSKA to the top of the table, four points ahead with a game in hand over second-placed Zenit St. Petersburg.
After a fantastic first year with CSKA after which Dzagoev was named Young Player of the Year, a host of European clubs began to take notice of the midfielder. Real Madrid were reported to be close to a bid but were rebuffed by the player himself who decided both to stay put and to look for a move to the Premiership when the time cam to move on.
Footybunker.com claims both Harry Redknapp and Arsene Wenger have made ‘discreet enquiries into the availability‘ of Dzagoev. Whichever manager succeeds in their attempts to sign the 21-year-old, there would inevitably be speculation about the potential for key players Luka Modric and Samir Nasri to leave White Hart Lane and The Emirates respectively.
Dzagoev would play a similar role as both Modric and Nasri. The key to this transfer could be which club can hold on to their star men.

Ya all make me laugh. Which coach are you expecting to pay 12million for a young Russian? Sure not Wenger, go ask Oxlade. Not even 10mils for a bestial, awesome Samba that we so hardly need. Wenger wont even pay for his wife’s hospital bills if it differs from his valuation. I am a repeatedly heart-broken Arsenal diehard who has learnt his lesson. Wenger can never dissapoint me…cos I dont expect anything good or progressive from a haughty, arrogant man like him.
Yet another young player with enormous potential.
When will ever end?For starters,Wenger must know he must win something now not in twenty years time.
Please get real.
wenger, please buy this young star quickly before it is too late. We desperately need him.
we need him dearly
Are you kidding me guys? In russia we laughed a lot after we’d read your comments. Actually, he is quite good and talented player, but he isn’t as good as Fabregas or Messi, so please stop writing that.
