According to various sources, Arsenal have snapped up Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell from Deportivo Saprissa.
Just two days ago, Gunnersphere.com reported that the 19-year-old was ‘in talks’ with the Gunners, but it now seems that the north London club have signed the exciting South American prospect.
Campbell, who took part in the Copa America earlier this month, is believed to have cost the Emirates outfit approximately £1 million.
However, the club are set to face a tough battle to attain a work permit for their newest signing, as the 5’11’’ forward has not played in 75% of his country’s recent matches.
This of course may result in Arsene Wenger seeking out a potential loan move for the youngster before he can head to the Emirates.
Campbell, who was reportedly being tracked down by A.C. Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Napoli, Fiorentina and Inter Milan, is expected to partake in the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia later this month before his immediate future is sorted out.
