Japanese star Keisuke Honda has recently revealed that he is ‘stuck in the rut’ at CSKA Moscow, which have put Arsenal and Liverpool on red alert, according to the Daily Mirror.

The two Premier League clubs have been linked with 24-year-old attacking midfielder following his performances in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and now it seems that Honda’s situation at CSKA has become unbearable.

Honda told a Japanese newspaper:

‘I can’t stay like this. I said I wanted Japan to win the World Cup’

‘I was MVP (most valuable player) at the Asian Cup in January but I’m still not happy with things.’

‘Right now I’m in a rut still being at CSKA. This wasn’t what I planned.’

‘If I don’t accept it I can’t live my life. But if I get too used to my circumstances I’ll come to a halt.’

Honda, who has already managed to net 3 goals in 5 starts for CSKA this season, still has two-and-a-half years left on his current contract. However, should the situation worsen, then the Japan international may look to hand in a transfer request as early as this summer.

I think Honda possesses great talent. He has skill, a piercing eye for goal and a cultured left-foot – he certainly has the ability.

The midfielder performed well in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa last summer, and looks to have the capabilities to compete in the Premier League.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind Arsene Wenger going for him this summer as I think he would make a great addition to the squad. Uunfortunately, I don’t think the Frenchman will, as he has other targets in mind this summer.

Only if Nasri leaves, but personally I think Nasri will stay. It is Fabregas that will be leaving imo.

I think will be better if we can sign Gotze.

Wish I had a crystal ball. I get a gut feeling that Honda could hit his straps under Wenger at Emirates. He could also fit into Wengers bargin basement pricing if he`s still available towards the end of the transfer window….Now let`s concentrate on getting a left full back, a centre half and a striker right out of the top drawer.

    Yes and yes.
This would be a great signing for Arsenal. He’s an established and experienced player for his age, and has obviously gone as far as he can with CSKA and is looking for new challenges.
Honda would make a great squad player and could easily start. He is a playmaker that has speed, great dribbling skills, and a killer free kick. A very similar skill set to Nasri, but he’s 6’0!
I’ve seen him play plenty of times for Japan, and being Aussie I can tell you he was the one that did the damage against us in the Asian Cup final last year. Tore us apart!
This NEEDS to happen if one of Cesc, Nasri, Rosicky, or Diaby leave. Which I feel at least one will. Should be gettable for around 8-12 million I would guess, but worth much more in the long run.

if he really think that he should be transferred, then he should fight… He should prove that he’s the best midfielder in Russia league, so that clubs won’t be reluctant to pay a lot for him.. Talent really worth a lot, but the desire to win is priceless…
