‘He will stay at Arsenal and is not for sale’

|

Carlos Vela will not be offloaded by Arsenal this summer, according to the forward’s agent.

The Mexican international was loaned out to West Brom for the last six months of last season, but struggled to find his feet at the Hawthorns, scoring just 2 goals in 8 appearances for the West Midlands club.

The 22-year-old’s time at Arsenal seemed to have hit a wall, and as such, was expected to be sold on during the summer, as Arsene Wenger looks to revamp his squad for next season’s campaign. However, Vela’s agent, Eduardo Hernandez, insist his client is still in Wenger’s plans.

Hernandez told ESPN Radioformula Mexico:

‘I have had eight conversations with Arsenal, the most recent was last Friday, and Carlos is an Arsenal player, he will stay at Arsenal and is not for sale.’

‘The process with Carlos is a little bit slow.’

‘Arsene Wenger is an extremely demanding coach, he sent him on loan for six months to West Brom not with the results he wanted, but, nevertheless, everything is going very well.’

I for one would not like to see Vela head out of the exit door this summer, as I believe he has the potential and raw ability to become a success at the club, if given the chance.

The only problem that faces Vela would be acquiring a good consistent run in the side, which I feel will become even more challenging next season with new arrivals expected.

Undoubtedly, it will be hard for the Mexican to gain a regular place in the starting line-up. However, surely Wenger must envisage something for the forward if he wants to keep hold of him? Still, this remains to be seen.

I for one hope that he does get a chance to prove his worth next season, and above all, prove to the doubters out there that he is capable of playing for such an illustrious club like Arsenal.

Here’s hoping.

THE STORY THAT VELA IS STAYING SADLY SUMS UP WHAT A RUBBISH COACH WENGER HAS TURNED OUT TO BE. WHAT COACH IN HIS RIGHT FRAME OF MIND WOULD KEEP A RUBBISH “PLAYER” SUCH AS VELA IN THE MIDDLE OF A REBUILDING PROCESS. THIS IS SAD, SAD, SAD INDEED!
