‘I do not know whether Arsenal have rejected or accepted Sporting’s bid’

Arsenal have received an official bid for Nicklas Bendtner, according to the London Evening Standard.

The 23-year-old striker, who has repeatedly expressed his desire to leave the Emirates this summer, has attracted the interest of several clubs, including Besiktas, Hamburg, Inter and Dortmund, and with the imminent arrival of Gervinho expected this week, Bendtner will almost certainly be granted his wish by Arsene Wenger this summer.

Reports today claim that Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have tabled a bid in the region of £7 million for the Danish forward, but Arsenal are thought to be holding out for £12 million.

Bendtner’s agent and father, Thomas Bendtner, stated today:

‘There is interest from several German clubs for Nicklas and I can confirm that Dortmund are interested in buying him.’

‘I do not know whether Arsenal have rejected or accepted Sporting’s bid.’

As much as I want to see him go, I believe Arsenal are doing the right thing in holding out for a more substantial offer for Bendtner. There are plenty of sides interested in the striker, and to accept the first offer for his services would be foolish – I do worry though that the Gunners have overpriced him at £12 million, and that clubs will not be prepared to match this sum.

Anywhere between £7-10 million (and that is stretching it) would be fine for me.

Hm, money for Bendtner? Wenger, dont waste time thinking but we need to make some dosh from sales as he’s been getting paid for naffall. I hear we are paying £12m for wallian + Denilson to Shaktar Doneskt, any truth in this? Then Defoe?

Heh. At least someone shares my view. He’s not as skillful as Messi but he’s got a decent goal to game ratio for someone being played out of position.

  • I love nicklas for is confidence. He is very talented but not good enough for my beloved gunner. I wish him the best in future, get the money and buy willian, i have watch the guy. Gosh, he is very talented, easy to get past a defended.
