How Arsenal can still be crowned Premier League champions?

|

Arsene Wenger was an elated man last Sunday after his side overcame league leaders Manchester United at the Emirates by a single goal.

The 1-0 victory evidently gave London rivals Chelsea a massive chance of clinching the title at the end of this month, and has also left Wenger believing that his Gunners could still potentially be crowned champions. However, this solely depends on whether Chelsea can return the favour later this afternoon at Old Trafford.

In a season that has had some very startling moments, it would be a surprising yet delightful image to see Arsenal lift the Premier League title at Craven Cottage come the end of the season. In my opinion, should both Arsenal and Chelsea record victories today, then I believe it would re-ignite hope and belief into the team, as the Gunners have a slightly easier finish to the season.

A win for Chelsea at Old Trafford this afternoon and possibly two draws, or better yet, two loses, in their last two games for both United and Chelsea could potentially see Arsenal lift the title, providing of course they do not drop a point in their last three games including today’s one against Stoke City.

Of course United still remain favourites to lift the trophy as they are in a great position, but mathematically the season is not over and the title is still within Arsenal’s reach. Unfortunately the Gunners title hopes are now in Chelsea’s hands and their pending result today. However, I remain optimistic until the end. It’s a long shot but I urge Gooners to keep the faith…it might just be our season yet!
