Jack Wilshere lays City rumours to rest

|

It was reported a few days ago that Manchester City are preparing a £40 million summer swoop for Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, and that the youngster would supposedly be interested in a move up North.

However, the 19-year-old used his Twitter account to assure Arsenal fans that he intends to stay with the Gunners for the long-term. Wilshere tweeted:

‘People asking if im going city? I dont kiss the Arsenal badge then leave <3 this club in my heart!’

If his tweet wasn’t obvious enough, the young midfielder also decided to attach a picture of himself kissing the Arsenal crest, which strongly emphasised his love for the North London club.

Good to see there is still some loyalty in football.

Nice one Jacky boy!

I love Jack Wilshere’s ability on the pitch, so I was especially happy to hear that Jack Wilshere loves Arsenal and wants to stay with us for the long term. It’s nice to see a player who is committed to the club and it’s even better to see loyalty in football.

Future club captain no doubt. A club captain should be an inspirational performer, vocal to encourage those around him and care genuinely about the club so that can rub off on his teammates. I’m not having a dig at the current captain but this lad is Arsenal to the core, he’s been training with Arsenal since he was about 9 so of course he’s a fan.
